It’s not the setting of the sun that sparks in me that all-embracing sadness.
Only a strange, sustained moment, a tearing tension, a near pain with which the sun would slowly sink.
Its strength escapes; its energy subsides.
Disarmed by time it can easily be punctured by sight.
After it’s gone, only the glow hangs resonantly still against the evening sky.
